There are two Community Fora groups operating in County Roscommon,
one in the North and one in the South. The Community & Enterprise
Section of the Council who administer the RCDB work closely
with the two Community Forum groups.
The Community Fora are a representative structure for all
the smaller development groups that operate across the county,
particularly community driven groups. These include community
development associations, tidy towns groups, community centres,
heritage groups, rural tourism groups and several more. They
provide a huge level of support and assistance to the groups
that operate in their area and as such are a great asset to
the County Development Board and the County in general.
The county is serviced by one Forum in the North and one
in the South and a representative from each sit on the Board
of the RCDB. This allows for enhanced networking between the
RCDB, the Community Fora and the local Community Development
groups which operate all over the county. This ensures a two-way
exchange takes place between those working on the ground and
the Board.
